Full Description
Three pits with late C1-mid C2 pottery and wall footing found in 1973, when constructing dual carriageway:
Pit `A' - TM 0802 3695, contained fragments of roofing tiles & pottery including Samian.
Pit `B' - TM 0805 3693, contained iron slag and pottery including Samian. Pit `C' - TM 0807 3696, contained fragments of iron, roofing tile, storage jar and carinated bowl.
Stone wall footings - TM 0806 3692, 0.33m wide and 1.22m long (S1)(S2)(R1). See also CSM 003, 004, 005, 006 & 007.
