Full Description
Medieval pottery scatter C15, together with C18-C19 pottery, found on site of farm buildings at Buttons (S1).
C14-C15 pottery found 1984 (S2).
1475 Lay Subsidy of Metfield : 'James Barbor per tenement Betones'.
1973: AP shows all buildings demolished (S5).
2010: cropmarks of farmstead (by Michael Page, July 2010 - see parish file).
1880s and 1900s OS maps show various buildings, farmhouse and ponds, some are suggestive of possible moat.
