Full Description
'Saxon coins found. Silver coins of Harold and Edward the Confessor. Found a quarter of a mile from Elm Farm. Said to come from Thwaite [and Campsea Ash]. No supporting evidence for this location (R1)'.
OS actually map this from 1886 in Wickham Skeith parish as " Saxon coins found about here" at the likely findspot (near to the Thwaite boundary).
For details of various sources see parish file (E Martin, SCCAS, 2012 digital Ms, copy of).
Also see Campsea Ash Misc entry relating to same hoard.
