Full Description
A circa 900 Anglo-Saxon stone cross in the form of a truncated square shaft, 12 ins wide and 6 ins thick, with a circular face, 18 ins in diameter and 6 ins thick carved with a crucifixion scene is situated on the east gable of St Peter and St Paul's Church, Kedington. It was said to have been found in the church "some 700 years ago" and originally stood on the east gate of the church. According to P M Johnston it originally formed the top of a detached standing cross or a preaching cross. (1)
