Full Description
St James Hospital (Premonstratensian Canons), first mentioned in 1291.
Location unknown.
Formerly recorded as TUG MISC
St James Hospital (Premonstratensian Canons) first
mentioned in 1291 and dissolved in c 1414. An alien house,
it was sometimes in the King's hand. (R2)
"Great Thurlow Hospital (near Haverhill)". Founded by King
Richard II in 1398 and made subordinate to the foreign
Hospital of Hautpays. Various documents mention it in 1398,
1462 and 1468. Granted with other lands to what is now King's
College, Cambs. The buildings have gone entirely to decay". (R3)
