Taken from NRHE record:
(TL 92236329) Moat (NR)
Homestead Moat, Rougham Place.
A rectangular water-filled moat as shown on Ordnance Survey 1:2500. Disturbed ground in the area enclosed indicates the unsurveyable remains of a building.
The cropmarks of two pairs of parallel ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the west of the moat. These pairs are both aligned east / west (the exact same alignment as both the northern and southern sides of the moat) and run continuously across the field upto the edge of the current field boundary in the west. The southern pair can be seen as cropmarks running upto the moat itself. Different parts of both pairs can be seen on historic maps between 1833-1893 at different times, indicating that both pairs are unlikely to be contemporary with one another
