Full Description
Marked as 'Catteshill (Tumulus) (site of)', on OS maps from 1920s (S2) (S3).
1957: partially destroyed mound shown to be IA/Rom midden [rather than barrow] by excavation by AR Edwardson (Moyses Hall Museum). C1 pottery sherds, lava quern fragments, bones of cattle (S1)(S4).
1970: site only, now crossed by a farm track, only a very slight lift in the land is evident (S1).
