Full Description

Light cropmarks (see sketch on map), N of Lodge Farm (S1).

At TL 85737556, in a field north of Lodge Farm, a soil mark is visible on OS AP 76 131/317/July 76 which suggests a subcircular moat. The field is under plough and shows only slight, probably natural, undulations and patches with a higher gravel content. There is no surface evidence to suggest occupation, or knowledge of the feature at the farm. The tithe map of 1840 gives no significant name to the field. Not an antiquity. (S2)
