Full Description

Bronze axe, looped and socketed, plain. Heavy socket moulding. Dark brown patina with rusty brown patches. Length 10.0cms, width (at blade?) 4.6cms. `Found with a lump of copper inside, now attached'. Joseph Warren then Sir John Evans collections (S1). Purchased by Warren in May 1862, who adds "Found in Pakenham very near to Ixworth Parish" (S2).
