Full Description

1980 and 1983: Large scatter found in area 20 metres square: two fragments lava quern, two C12 sherds, 18 C13 sherds, 17 unglazed sherds, three late C13 sherds, two late C14 Grimstone ware sherds, one C14 green glazed lip of pan. Also PMed and one ? PMes blade.
This site together with WLW 35, 36 and 37 appears to lie within the area of (?) Cranmer Green as bounded by WLW 8, 9, 16, 22-33, 38-40, 70-72 and 80. In 1577 recorded as customary messuage and yard called 'Weders' of John Carter (S1).
