Full Description
1980: Small scatter of Med pottery over area 20m square: one C12 rim, two C13 rims, two C13 bases, seven C13 sherds. Also one C16 green-glazed sherd and two Rom sherds.
In 1577 'customary tenamente newelye buylded' with Smyth alias Thomas Hovell as tenant (S1).
Building shown on 1817 map (S2) and on 6 inch map (S3), although not on 1984 map (S4). For other Med and PMed sites in area of Crowland (now Crownland) and on same (roadside ?) alignment, see WLW 48-51, 53, 55, 56 and Crownland Hall (WLW 4).
