Full Description

Bronze hoard found 1897. Commonly called the Santon Downham (Suffolk) hoard, actually found in Norfolk.
Scrap bronze in water clock - now in Cambridge Museum. Horse harness, enamelled bronze linch pin, 6 bronze nave bands, 10 brooches of circa mid C1 AD types. Roman jug (bronze) with trefoil spout, handle of bronze skillet (S1).
OS and Clarke located findspot on Norfolk side of river (in Santon, Norfolk) at TL 8382 8736 (S2) (S3).
