Full Description

Rectilinear field system probably overlying an ?oval enclosure, see HRK 029 (S1).
Trackways, possible linear field boundaries and a possible irregular curvilinear enclosure defined by ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the south of Vale Farm, Harkstead, centred on TM 18913532. The trackways and features to not appear to form a coherent system, though it is possible that one of the double-ditched trackways, seen in two sections at TM 18913532 and TM 18883508, may run into the sub circular enclosure visible to the north (HRK 029). The other linear features and trackways, such as the one centred on TM 18783547 do not appear to be related. A possible irregular curvilinear enclosure is also visible centred on TM 18923531. (S2-S5) The rectilinear field system described above (S1) is probably where Post Medieval field boundaries visible on the 1st Edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of circa 1884 have been removed. (S6)
