Full Description

1955: Prehistoric flints, "hut site" with hearth found in pipeline trench in August 1955 on field South West of Rectory. Hearth was found at depth of two feet nine inches and contained burnt stones and many charcoal fragments but no pottery (S1, S2).

Descriptions of flint finds are vague, dating to a specific period bracket is ill-advised. However, they may be Later Prehistoric, based on context. The feature could at its broadest bracket be post glacial (S2).
