Full Description

Broom Hills in a multi period site excavated by Basil Brown over 4 years, 1964-1968. Neo flint flakes, scrapers, cores and arrowhead found on this site, reported by Brown to have yielded over 1,000 Mes and Neo worked flints. Saddle quern of sandstone weighing 4 stone also found and Brown reported finding Neo grooved ware sherds in a ditch (no Neo pottery in archive store). A short length of the ditch was excavated and led Brown to believe that the site was once a Neo causewayed camp measuring approximately 90m x 160m (S1)(S2)(S3). Unconfirmed.
Also Mes, Rom, Sax, Un.
