Full Description
Med C13 pottery sherds found in sewer trench in garden of Tudor house called Old Chequers in July 1960. The pottery was found at a depth of 10 feet to the E of the remains of a square building made of flint and mortar without hair, which Basil Brown thought might belong to the same period (S1)(S2)(S3). Brown entered this site as Rickinghall Superior but Old Chequers is in Rickinghall Inferior.
