ARTEFACT SCATTER (Bronze Age - 2350 BC to 701 BC)

Full Description

Found within area of Neo finds scatter, MNL 043.
November 1956: Bronze palstave with trident decoration, found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) on plough soil surface. Edge damaged. Length 15.9 cms (S1). Class I, group 3 palstave of late MBA to LBA 2 date (S4).

Note bone `ferrule' (MNL 227) from same scatter.
Circa 1970-1987: Thin scatter of worked flint, pottery and animal bone found by C Pendleton and (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in adjoining corners of fields F21 and F40. Finds include comb decorated beaker sherd. Also triangular arrowhead from (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (catalogue number A175).
