Full Description
House foundations.
A `hollow square of whitish clay' was revealed by plough on the top of a small mound. Excavations exposed a solid floor of chalk and yellow clay and gault, nearly 1 foot thick with remains of walls measuring 27 x 36 feet externally. Stone footings of walls and lines or small post holes were found in the floor(?), as were large nails, mussel shells, charcoal and 2 glazed neck sherds (C16 or later)(S1).
