Full Description

Copper or bronze flat axe with thin butt. Narrow butt with concave sides flaring to splayed crescentric blade edge. `Longitudinal graining almost obliterated' (S1). Butt damaged, dirty brown patina, 15.4 cms long. Part of J Warren collection sold to Sir J Evans in 1866 (S2)(S3)(S4). Found in Mildenhall Fen (S5).
Findspot incorrectly recorded as `Mildenhall' (S4)(S3) and Eriswell (see ERL Misc - CRN 07960)(S6).
