Full Description

Church of St Lawrence, Ilketshall, alleged to be on Rom site (and is on raised ground (Rec 1:10560 by A L F Rivet 12/8/1954 from oral F Scarfe) (S1).
Coarse ware and samian fragment found in churchyard in 1929, in Ipswich Museum ? (S2).
Re-visited in 2003 by R. G. Watson, a local person with interest. He examined the adjacent field visually from the graveyard - appears to be fine rubble (chalky mortar or small flints?) Possible ploughed out building? Further visits pending. S3
