Full Description
Mesolithic artefacts from Lakenheath Warren listed by Wymer:1 tranchet axe, 1 axe fragment, circa 20 cores, circa 50 blades/flakes, 1 scraper and 3 microliths (2 in Huddersfield Museum ex Buckley, ex Lawrence)(S1,S2).
`Lakenheath Warren' could include any of the following provinanced Mesolithic sites:- LKH 075, LKH 126, WNG 017, WNG 004 & WNG 002.
Jacobi also lists 8 microliths from Lakenheath Warren in the Fox collection in Passmore Edwards Museum, (Now Newham Heritage Services) (S3).
Unmapped. The "Warren" is marked on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as the heathland in the parish which is now to the East of the A1065 road and the site of the USAF base.
