Full Description

Minster built on site of a Roman encampment (S2).
In SAU excavation 1984 in Southern trench a small curving gulley with late Romano-British pottery and fragments of so-called Romano-Saxon ware were found. Further investigations are planned (S1)(S2).
Rom pottery and tile noted 1950-1984.

Scheduled
Geophysical survey on the minster site identified several anomalies of archaeological interest. These were thought to relate to boundary to possibly drainage features. No evidence was identified to suggest other buildings are present within the enclosure (S4)
