Summary

The cropmarks of an incomplete or penannular ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Neolithic or Bronze Age barrow, are visible on aerial photographs. Three pit-like features are clearly visible within the central area and could feasibly relate to burials. See BLN 031 for an adjacent located ring ditch. Neolithic finds have been located in close proximity (BLN 006).

Full Description

Ring ditch cropmark (S1).

January 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks of an incomplete or penannular ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Neolithic or Bronze Age barrow, are visible on aerial photographs (S2). The ring ditch is centred on TM 5177 9693 and is broad ditched and measuring 19m in diameter, and the southern circuit is either open or obscured. Three pit-like features are clearly visible within the central area and could feasibly relate to burials. See BLN 031 for an adjacent located ring ditch. Neolithic finds have been located in close proximity (BLN 006).
