Monument record SOL 051 - Possible linear uncertain origin, date and function

Please read our .

Summary

Possible linear ditches, of uncertain origin, date and function, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. If they represent genuine archaeological features they are most likely to have been field boundaries, although they have a different orientation to other, more definite field systems recorded in the area, such as SHER LUD 016 to the north and SOL 015 (MSX27299) to the east, and this approximate area appears to be shown as common on the 1652 estate map of Somerleyton.
