Summary

A World War Two searchlight battery is visible as earthworks and structures on 1940s aerial photographs; more recent aerial photographs indicate that the site has since been largely or wholly levelled. Defences which probably relate to the battery, sited along the B1074 to the south, are recorded separately as SHER SOL 053.

January 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
A World War Two searchlight battery is visible as earthworks and structures on 1940s aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), centred at TM 4990 9727; more recent aerial photographs show that the site has since been largely or wholly levelled. Defences which probably relate to the battery, sited along the B1074 to the south, are recorded separately as SHER SOL 053.
