Summary

A site of World War Two Anti-Aircraft Battery is visible on aerial photographs and significant structural parts of which still survive on the ground, including the gun house themselves, which are depicted on the Ordnance Survey mapping and therefore not included within the NMP plot. The site originally also contained a radar platform and temporary huts and operational buildings.It was armed with four 3.7-inch static guns with GL Mark II radar in 1942, when it was manned by 332 Battery of the 106th Royal Artillery Regiment, and was retained as an Off-Site Nucleus Force Battery in 1946.

A site of World War Two Anti-Aircraft Battery is visible on aerial photographs (S1) and significant structural parts of which still survive on the ground, including the gun house themselves, which are depicted on the Ordnance Survey mapping and therefore not included within the NMP plot. The site is centred on TM 5001 9961 and originally also contained a radar platform and temporary huts and operational buildings.
Information from the EHA record (TM 49 NE 40) states it was armed with four 3.7-inch
static guns with GL Mark II radar in 1942, when it was manned by 332 Battery of the 106th Royal Artillery Regiment,
and was retained as an Off-Site Nucleus Force Battery in 1946.
