Summary

The site of a probable fuel storage tank, surrounded by World War Two structures and barbed wire defences, is visible on aerial photographs from 1944-45. Earlier wartime photography indicates that a pillbox and/or gun emplacement stood on this site and a number of slit trenches were visible within this area.

February 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The site of a probable fuel storage tank, surrounded by World War Two structures and barbed wire defences, is visible on aerial photographs from 1944-45 (S1-S2). Earlier wartime photography indicates that a pillbox and/or gun emplacement stood on this site and a number of slit trenches were visible within this area (S3).
