Summary

The site of a World War Two military camp, indicated by a group of nissen-type huts, is visible at the former site of Blundeston Lodge (BLN 021), now site of Blundeston Prison, is visible on aerial photographs. These structures indicate that the hall was likely to have been requisitioned for military use during the war.

January 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The site of a World War Two military camp, indicated by a group of nissen-type huts, is visible at the former site of Blundeston Lodge (BLN 021), now site of Blundeston Prison, is visible on aerial photographs (S1). The site is centred on TM 5154 9677. These structures indicate that the hall was likely to have been requisitioned for military use during the war.
