Full Description

June 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
Cropmarks of undated ditches which may relate to enclosures, field boundaries and trackways are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3) to the south of Church Farm Marshes, Benacre. These cropmarks are visible against a background of geological features, and have therefore been mapped with a note of caution. It is possible that the archaeological features extend further than those mapped, and they may relate to the site to the south-east (SHER BNC 011), which has tentatively been suggested to have a Roman element.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 11th June 2014.
