Full Description

June 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
A World War Two pillbox is visible as an extant structure on 1940s aerial photographs (S1-S2), centred at TM 5295 8988. It lies close (175m to the east) to the line of the anti-tank defences that were constructed to protect Lowestoft during the war (overall record SHER LWT 309; at this location LWT 284). The pillbox undoubtedly formed part of this scheme of perimeter defences. Modern maps indicate that it has since been removed and the site built over.
