Full Description

June 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
Five possible World War Two strongpoints, compounds or barbed wire obstructions are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2), on land to the east and west of Snab Hill, Kessingland. These features are clearly temporary, since they are no longer visible once the anti-tank ditch (SHER KSS 038) has been constructed, later in 1941. Two sections of anti-tank cubes are also visible to the south (SHER KSS 096 and KSS 097), along with defences associated with the Hundred River (SHER HHS 020 and HHS 027).
