Full Description
August 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
Undated fragmentary cropmarks of field boundary ditches and possible pits are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the west of Elms Cottage, Rushmere. The cropmarks are fragmentary, and only visible on one set of photographs, and are visible within an area of geological marks from which it is difficult to distinguish the archaeological features. However, a Roman key has been recovered by metal detecting within the field (SHER RMR 005) and it is therefore possible that these features are Roman in date.
