Summary

The site of a possible World War Two covered/camouflaged air raid shelter and trenches may be visible on aerial photographs. The interpretation of these features is uncertain, as they appear to be associated with mounds of material within an industrial/dockside setting. It may be that they relate to activity at the site and serve no defensive function.

May 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The site of a possible World War Two covered/camouflaged air raid shelter and trenches may be visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The interpretation of these features is uncertain, as they appear to be associated with mounds of material within an industrial/dockside setting. It may be that they relate to activity at the site and serve no defensive function.
