Summary

The site of a World War Two structure surrounded by a substantial blast wall, and some other structures and trenches, are visible on aerial photographs to the north of North Quay. Although it is possible that this is a large, well protected air raid shelter, it seems more likely that this represented an important operational building for either military or civil defence.
