Summary

Anti-tank cubes either side of a house. They seem to be mounted on a continuous concrete raft. There are 6 cubes one side of the house and three on the other.

Full Description

Located on NE side of railway bridge, either side of house, Henley Road, Castle Hill, Ipswich. Anti-tank cubes either side of a house. They seem to be mounted on a continuous concrete raft. There are 6 cubes one side of the house and three on the other (S1).

A series of at least 28 anti-tank cubes, from WW2, surrounding a pillbox. The cubes continue on the east side of the road, although fewer structures can be seen on the aerial photographs. The main semi-circle of cubes on the west side of the road have been destroyed by a housing development. Helen Saunders (Essex County Council), April 2014. (S2-S3)
