Full Description

A number of probable oyster pits, of unknown date, are visible on two intertidal saltmarsh islands north of Iken Cliff (TM 401563). The majority are located on the southern island, with only one pit on the northern island; however, the islands are being eroded and the original extent of the pit complex is unclear (further possible eroded oyster pits are recorded to the south and there may have been more pits on the northern island). (S1-3)
Initially numbered as IKN 019 during pilot survey of intertial area. Re-numbered Nov 2004
