Full Description

A World War II searchlight or Light Anti-Aircraft battery, visible as earthworks at TM 447576, northeast of Round Hill. The battery was apparently abandoned by 1943, but comprised two large (c.20m diameter) penannular, banked emplacements with two smaller (c.6m and c.4m diameter) emplacements (probably for anti-aircraft machine guns) and a Type 23 pillbox (S1). By 1955, the site had been levelled (S2).
