Full Description

Six quarry pits, probably of Post Medieval date (one is recorded on the 1st series 1" map as a 'sand pit' (S1) ), are visible as earthworks north and east of Grange Farm (S2-3), at TM 43935882, TM 44035885, TM 44085894, TM 44085876, TM 44155873 and TM 44135871 (this last is joined to both the previous two pits). Only the most westerly and northerly two pits are not ploughed.
