Full Description

A World War II strongpoint is visible from 1940 at TM 53098229, northeast of Covehithe. The site is initially visible as a barbed wire circuit covering the southern end of the line of anti tank cubes on the beach below (S1). By 1941, however, the site includes a pillbox with associated trench system within at least one line of barbed wire and possibly two to the northwest (S2-3). The site has since been eroded away.
