Full Description

A World War II strongpoint is visible at TM 536834, northeast of Benacre Broad, in 1940. The strongpoint comprises an apparent large square pillbox with associated trench system within a barbed wire circuit (S1). By 1941, the pillbox has gone (although the trench system remains) and been replaced by a probable pillbox located in a new barbed wire enclosure attached to the southwest (S2-3). The site has since been eroded away.
