Full Description
A World War II strongpoint is visible in 1940 at TM 537840, east of Beach Farm. The strongpoint comprises a possible pillbox (apparently circular and therefore possibly of World War II date), associated trenches and emplacement, within a barbed wire circuit (possibly with a northern access) (S1). By 1941, the barbed wire circuit has been extended to the south, as have the trenches. The original pillbox has also gone and two new probable pillboxes have been built just to the south (S2-3). The site has since been eroded away.
Initially numbered as BNC 029 during pilot survey of intertial area. Re-numbered Nov 2004
