Full Description
World War II beach defences are visible from 1941 along the beach in Benacre Parish east of New Cut, linking the various strongpoints. The defences comprise a line of barbed wire extending north-south, linking the strongpoints, and a number of additional sections of barbed wire and minefields which serve to divide up the area between the beach and New Cut (S1-2). The defences are augmented slightly by 1943 (S3). Many of the features have since been eroded away.
Initially numbered as BNC 029 during pilot survey of intertial area. Re-numbered Nov 2004
