Full Description
Two pairs of zig-zag features with entrances at either end can be seen amongst the chalets of a holiday camp in Corton on 1940 aerial photographs (S1). These features are covered trench air raid shelters and would probably have been used by military personnel who may have been stationed in the holiday camp. The shelters are between 25m and 35m long and are visible on aerial photographs throughout the years of World War II. 1946 aerial photographs (S2) show the features to be far less crisp and fresh looking, and the more southerly pair may in fact have been levelled.
