Full Description

Two stretches of zig-zag shaped trench, c 20m and 25m long, are visible on 1943 aerial photographs (S1) on Pakefield Green, Lowestoft. A square feature, c 20m across, can also be seen on these photographs. It is more clearly seen on 1945 aerial photographs (S2), which show that it is some kind of shelter, most likely an air raid shelter. The shelter appears as a raised square area with a clearly visible entrance. There may also be further features on top of it, although it is not clear from the photographs.
