Full Description

A stretch of beach defence scaffolding is visible running along the beach east of Pakefield Cliffs for c 380m, on 1944 aerial photographs (S1). There appear to be some gaps in the scaffolding, presumably for access. At right angles to the scaffolding, on the cliff-top, is a short stretch of barbed wire, close to what appears to be a gun emplacement. These features would have been part of the World War II coastal defences in this area.
