Full Description

A section of World War II anti-tank ditch which runs for over 1.75km in the parish of Gisleham can be seen on aerial photographs from July 1941 (S1). It does not appear on photographs from June 1941 (S2), so it can be assumed that it was constructed between these two dates. It can also be seen in 1944 (S3). Some parts of the ditch have a gently sloping accompanying bank, while others don't.
