Full Description

A tank trap of World War II date can be seen running from TM320383 to TM323365 down the eastern edge of Felixstowe Marshes. It consists of an anti-tank ditch, created by modifying an existing drainage channel (S1) and a short length of anti-tank cubes designed to prevent movement along the top of the seabank itself. The southern end of the tank trap is visible on photographs from 1940 onwards (S2) and, although there is no coverage until 1944 for the nothern section, it is reasonable to assume that the northern end of the tank trap is also of a similar date. (S3) (S4)
