Full Description

A number of sections of barbed wire obstruction are visible just to the south of Southwold on 1941 aerial photographs (S1). They appear to continue across a creek and are very close to a barbed wire enclosed trench (SWD 025). These features would presumably have been part of the World War II defences in this area and they can be clearly seen on 1943 (S2) aerial photographs, where they are highlighted by a dusting of snow.
