Full Description

A gun emplacement of World War II date is visible on Gun Hill, Southwold, on 1941 aerial photographs (S1). About 125m north-west of that, on South Green, two slit trenches are visible. These are also features of World War II date. The gun emplacement is still visible on an 1943 aerial photograph (S2), although the trenches are only very faintly visible due to a covering of snow.

2015: A geophysical survey carried out on Gun Hill revealed features associated with the gun emplacement (S3).
