Full Description

Various fragmentary cropmarks are visible on 1970 aerial photographs (S1) in a field just to the west of Walberswick. There is a pair of parallel lines, which could be some kind of trackway. There are also various angular cropmarks, which could be the corners of enclosures or field systems - it is difficult to say for sure, as the cropmarks are on the whole incomplete, and the geology of the area also creates a lot of background 'noise' which confuses and obscures the archaeology. There may also be the cropmark of a pit visible among the linears. The exact date and function of these cropmarks is unknown.
